Communication is the essence of a good sound relationship with one’s pet.  It is also very important when visiting a vet with your pet that the vet explains absolutely everything to you when diagnosing and treating.  This is definitely the case at Noordhoek Vet – from the minute you walk through the door, the welcoming receptionists try to put you and your pet at ease with a friendly greeting and sometimes even a treat!  Appointments are always timeously adhered to and nothing seems like too much trouble.  Even if you have a nervous dog who won’t enter through the front door then the back gate is often arranged to be opened for the worried patient and treatments are dutifully completed outside on the lawn!  With regards to feeding and all the various foods, I have always found the receptionists and the vets very willing to advise the “best or correct” food for your furry companion.  All in all, nobody wants to be scared of going to the vet – it should be a pleasurable empathetic nurturing healing and informative environment and that sums up the entire team at Noordhoek Veterinary Practice.

Noordhoek Vet has been my local vet of choice for over 20 years! I love the intimate family feel, the fact that one is almost guaranteed a warm hug – by any or all of the employees, especially the vets, many of whom have become friends. Hudson cares deeply about the animals and treats them gently and as individuals, with so much genuine, authentic warmth. I have lost several dogs – and always felt held and cared for after having to say goodbye. Karyn is empathetic, warm and loving, and helps one see your precious family member cross the rainbow bridge. I have blubbed MANY times in that practice, but always been treated with respect and empathy. I feel 100% confident taking my animals to this vet, and/or asking for advice. An excellent practice all round. Cannot imagine Noordhoek without it.

I have been using the Noordhoek vets for over 3 years now. All the vets are amazing with my Siberian cats, and they are always willing to help. The girls at reception are brilliant and always friendly and smiling. Dr Jean, in particular, is an AMAZING vet and was spot-on in diagnosing one of my boys, who only had a slim chance of surviving. I had to administer 3 capsules (to a cat) daily for 2 months, and today he is 100%. Dr Karyn is always willing to come out and vaccinate my whole "zoo". Very blessed to have them on my doorstep!

Dear all of the Noordhoek Vets and to everyone else who is a very important component of this well-oiled machine…What an absolute pleasure it is to deal with such a fantastic, friendly and unique local veterinary practice. They always manage to serve and assist us with Ruby, (our Bull in a China shop) Bull Terrier, whenever we need their help, support and assistance. Everyone there is always so dedicated to assisting us with our pets’ health, needs and welfare at all times. The reception team and the back-of-house angels are always super efficient too. Storme, who is one of the nurses, along with the most indelible man, Mr Hudson, are so passionate and on hand whenever our dog arrives. They give us 100% of their time to be with Ruby when she is stressed and anxious on her arrival, which is so reassuring and a relief for us to have, and calming and kind for Ruby. You were so supportive too when we fostered 2 dogs who sadly lost their master, and as always, you stepped up and helped us throughout their journey with us, which was nothing short of heroic, so credit where credit is due, you were absolutely fabulous!!! We cannot recommend you highly enough and thank you again for everything you do and have done for us over the years. Thank you again for your loyal, kind and unwavering support and kindness at all times, especially when I broke my back and you moved heaven and earth to attend to our needs. About 3 years ago, I received a call from Dr Karen Levy to ask me what I needed for the horses in the way of medical supplies, bearing in mind, they were not treating horses at this time. I was astounded at the generosity and kindness of this request. A donation of essential medical supplies was soon delivered. In 2024 we experienced an emergency with one of our old ponies, and our vet was out of town, his veterinary nurse came to consult and was in communication with our vet, but that was not enough. Someone called Noordhoek Vets' emergency number, and to be honest, I was irritated as there were no equine vets in the practice. Imagine my surprise when we received a call from Dr Estian Van As, who said he would be on his way immediately, tragically we had to euthanise before Dr Van As could consult. I was then given assurances that he would be available whenever we needed assistance. We have used his services and been guided by his expertise and knowledge on so many occasions since then. We rescued a mom and pups, not our sphere of work, but when an animal is in need we have to help if we can. I took the mom and pups to Noordhoek Vet where they were examined and given the necessary medication, the pups were only 8 days old!  We continued to take the mom and pups there for vaccinations, deworming and examinations. I am happy to say they were all healthy and have all been adopted. The service from Dr Karen Levy, Dr Estian Van As and their colleagues is exceptional. From the wonderful ladies at reception to the gentlemen who work at the back, and all of the vets, your genuine love and compassion for all animals is clear to all who are fortunate enough to go to your practice. They have treated wild birds, we took one there as youngster, and they fixed the broken leg, loaned us a cage whilst the bird recovered, and it was successfully released, all at no charge! All the services and consultations we have received have been billed to us at welfare rates, which is a huge help. Noordhoek Vet but a veterinary practice that truly cares about each and every animal that they consult.
